Twinsie Thursday: Abstract Flowers

Isn't Lothwen's look lovely? Make sure to to hop over to her blog to see my manicure!

Hello lovelies!
I'm back this month with one of my all-time favourite manis! We decided to recreate a mani by Kelli from The Nail Polish Challenge, which she did for a guest post over at Wondrously Polished! She in turn, was inspired by a painting, lol! I wonder what the painter was inspired by. Anyways, when I saw this mani at the time on IG, I fell in love and saved it for later. Now me and Samantha have recreated it! Here we go:

Please ignore my fuzzy index fingers, I think it's my camera. Now I started with a base of a light grey polish from HEMA, and then did some grungy distressing with OPI Alpine Snow and Paris Memories 236. I then created the stems with a striper and the flowers with a nail art brush and some Catrice "Fred Said Red", "Orango Bloom" and Laushine red stamping polish (opacity-wise a good choice).

So what do you think? Did I do the original manicure justice? I hope so... Now go check out Samantha's awesome take on the matter on my blog! I love it :D

Sinful Colors Glass Pink & Born Pretty Store Gold Foil

Press Sample
Hey y'all!
Tonight I have another post featuring nail art foil from Born Pretty Store!

I applied random pieces of gold foil over two coats of Sinful Colors Glass Pink. I've had Glass Pink in my collection for a while, but this is the first time I've used it! It is a nice sheer pink with gold flecks, so it was the perfect polish for the gold foil!

You can find the gold nail art foil on Born Pretty Store's website! It retails for $5.53 USD and you get six pots of silver foil and six pots of gold foil.
Make sure to use the code YSG10 for 10% off your order!
What do you think about the foil trend? Let me know below!

Sinful Colors Savage & Born Pretty Store Silver Foil

Press Sample
Hey y'all!
I was super busy with school work and I was sick over the past few weeks, so that is why you haven't seen me! I'm better now and school is less hectic, so I'm now back to my normal posting schedule!

Today I have Sinful Colors Savage accented with silver nail art foil from Born Pretty Store!

For this look I used two coats of Sinful Colors Savage. Savage is a gorgeous teal that dries matte.
Then, I added small pieces of silver nail art foil on each nail while the second coat of Savage was still wet.

You can find the silver nail art foil on Born Pretty Store's website! It retails for $5.53 USD and you get six pots of silver foil and six pots of gold foil. I barely used one pot of the silver foil, so I think these will last you a while!
Make sure to use the code YSG10 for 10% off your order!

I'll be back on Tuesday with a look using the gold nail art foil!

Firmoo Glasses

Press Sample
Hey y'all!
Today's post is a little different- I have a review of a pair of Firmoo glasses!
When Firmoo contacted me I was very excited, as I needed a new pair of glasses! I always go back and forth between glasses and contacts, so having a nice, neutral pair of glasses is a must!

I chose the style #F1011! These glasses retail for $53.00 USD, but when I ordered them they were on sale for $33.00 USD. Most of the frame is made of acetate, but the arms are made of metal.

The arms have a funky black, silver, and dark green triangle pattern, with triangle cut outs!

The ordering process was painless. I put in my prescription, made sure all of my information was correct, and put in my order! It took seventeen days from the time I put in my order to the glasses arriving on my doorstep. I did order during the holidays and it was an international order (they ship from China), so I assume that is why it took so long for my order to arrive. I've ordered from Firmoo before and my glasses arrived in nine days.

My glasses arrived in a hard case, along with a soft case, a cleaning cloth, and a copy of my order.

Firmoo is running a "First Pair Free" promotion (you pay shipping). If you chose not to partake in that promotion, you can get free shipping on anY order totaling $39.00USD+ using the code FREESHIP.

Overall, I'm very happy with my order. The glasses are good quality and decently priced. I would definitely order again!

KbShimmer Men Are From Mars-ala

Press Sample
Hey y'all!
Today's post features the Pantone Color of the Year: Marsala! At first, I was very skeptical of this color, but after swatching KbShimmer's Men Are From Mars-ala, I was sold!

Men Are From Mars-ala, a linear holographic polish, is a gorgeous rusty red shade. The formula was smooth, creamy, and fast drying.
I applied two coats of Men Are From Mars-ala over my normal base coat; no top coat. In the picture above, I used artificial daylight and the holographic payoff was great!
This was my first polish by KbShimmer and I am really impressed!

You can pick up KbShimmer Men Are From Mars-ala on KbShimmer's website for $8.75 USD!

What do you think? Are you sold on the Pantone Color of the Year yet?
